Plant Description
Betel Leaf Oil is extracted from the leaves of Piper betle, a tropical climbing plant belonging to the Piperaceae family. The plant is widely cultivated throughout Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, India, Indonesia and Thailand, where betel leaves have been traditionally valued for centuries.
The betel plant is an evergreen perennial vine with glossy, heart-shaped leaves and a characteristic spicy fragrance. The leaves contain naturally occurring aromatic compounds that give the plant its distinctive warm and refreshing scent.
In Vietnam and many Asian countries, betel leaves have long been used in traditional practices and cultural ceremonies. Due to their unique aroma and natural properties, betel leaves are also an important botanical source for essential oil production.
The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of fresh betel leaves. The distillation process preserves the natural aromatic compounds, producing a yellow to brownish yellow oil with a strong spicy-green fragrance.
Betel Leaf Oil is widely used in natural fragrance, cosmetics, aromatherapy, personal care and household product formulations.
