Plant Description
Clove Bud Oil is extracted from the leaves of Syzygium aromaticum, an evergreen tree belonging to the Myrtaceae family. The tree is native to the Maluku Islands of Indonesia, also known as the Spice Islands, and is now widely cultivated throughout Indonesia, one of the world's largest producers of cloves.
The clove tree typically grows between 10 and 15 meters in height, featuring glossy green leaves and aromatic flower buds. While the flower buds are commonly used as a culinary spice, the leaves are an important source of essential oil rich in naturally occurring Eugenol.
Clove bud are harvested throughout the year from mature trees and carefully dried before undergoing steam distillation. This process produces a high-quality essential oil with a warm, spicy aroma and a high Eugenol content. Depending on the quality of the bud and distillation conditions, the oil yield generally ranges from 1.5% to 3.0%.
Due to its consistent quality and versatile applications, Clove Leaf Oil is widely used in the cosmetics, personal care, fragrance, aromatherapy and household products industries.
